The Egg Olympics was a brand new evening event that gave the campers a chance to compete against each other, use their minds creatively and come together by working with their cabin mates. There were three competitions that linked with each other to make this event spectacular. They included:
· Space Pod Landing
· Martian Lake Race
· Rocket Race
Each cabin worked as a team and used supplies given to them and from the woods. We followed the older group through the three competitions.

Space Pod Landing
The older group started at the Adventure Course. The contest there was called Space Pod Landing. The campers built a "Space Pod" where they put an egg. The goal was to make the egg as protected as possible so when it was thrown down the wall in the Adventure Course, it would not break. Fortunately, no eggs were harmed.
In this game, there was a lot of thinking. Campers had to think of a good way to make a proper "pod" for the egg. Each group stuffed a cup with leaves and make a soft, protective mat. They tried to make the cup as soft as possible inside, around the egg, but strong enough outside so the egg wouldn't break when it landed. There was a lot of excitement and talking when they were working. Campers and counselors were chanting, "We're the best! We are going to win." Groups even named their Pods. Cabin G8's was "Sparkles" B12 was "Big Shot Rocket". Teams in this contest were awarded points based on the following:
1 pt. For a completed Space Pod
1 pt. For a Pod which could hold its hero safely
100 pts. For a Pod that could land its egg hero safely

Martian Lake Race
The next competition, held at the Water Front, was called the Martian Lake Race. The point of this game was to make a small boat for the egg that would float from the deck onto the beach shore. We asked counselors how they felt about this event. "We were and are confident, we are the winners!" said Elijah, counselor of B9. There were some cheaters that got points taken away. Teams in this contest were awarded points based on the following:
1 pt. For a completed Space Boat
1 pt. For a Boat which supported their egg hero safely
10 pts. For a Boat that transported their egg hero to the finish line

Rocket Race
The last competition was at the Soccer Field, called the Rocket Race. Here the counselors and their cabins had to create a rocket that would transport their egg safely across the "galaxy", via a fishing line. Any team whose egg was damaged was disqualified. Teams were awarded points based on the following:
1 pt. For a completed Rocket Ship
1 pt. For a ship which supported their egg hero safety
10 pts. For a ship that transported their egg hero to the finish line
25 pts. For 1st place
15 pts. For 2nd place
10 pts. For 3rd place

Even though there was a lot of competition, the teams did not forget to work together and have fun.
